Our story
Hillfort Sporting was founded by Augusta and Matthew, for them shooting is not only a career but also a passion. They are both competitive clay shooters representing Great Britain and Puerto Rico, and between them, they have a wealth of knowledge and experience.
They founded Hillfort Sporting as they wanted to offer a more inclusive clay shooting experience. We aim to provide services to aid experienced shooters to progress their skills and also to introduce new shooters to this wonderful sport. From coaching to simulated game days, we offer a wide range of services for clients of all abilities and experiences.
A day at Hillfort Sporting will be packed full of thrilling shooting, lots of fun, and fabulous hospitality.
Hillfort Sporting is based in South Wiltshire, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. This gives our guests not just a fantastic day of clay shooting but also amazing rural surroundings.
As our names suggests, we are home to our very own Iron Age Hillfort and we are very proud to be custodians of this wonderful piece of history.
On the estate we are very keen to be as sustainable as possible and to nurture the land and the environment. Therefore, we only shoot fibre wad cartridges and use eco-friendly biodegradable clays.
We also endeavour to support our local community, and we do this by sourcing as much produce as possible directly from farmers and growers within the nearby area. This allows our guests to truly experience the wonderful countryside Wiltshire has to offer.
